Chica

We took Chica to Katie Torriente photography for a free photo shoot and here are some of her shots...
She's not as innocent as she looks...believe me. Isn't this a great picture??
Thanks Katie!

B-Man

Lately, this has been Brandon's attire around the house. I had to take a picture so you could all enjoy it.
He got this fishing hat from my Dad for Christmas and is so excited for Spring to come so he can really use it...in the meantime, this is how it's getting broken in. As far as the robe and his pose...no comment

Oooh...it was a good one...

We saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons last night and I thought it was such a powerful and thought provoking story. A tearjerker too. Here are two of my favorite quotes from the movie.

"For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again. "

"I wanna remember us just as we are now. "

Oh...we'll miss you Georgie.

"Sometimes you misunderestimated me."
-George W. Bush

Um...misunderestimated you? Wait...don't you mean we OVERestimated you? I'm confused. I think he's confused. I'll always remember Dubya as the president who added many new words and variations on existing words to the Engilsh dictionary during his presidency. Um...thanks?

Sunflower Farmer's Market

Okay, so a few months ago, Brandon and I decided to really start paying attention to what we put into our bodies. We started looking at the ingredients on things that we buy at the grocery store to check for things like high fructose corn syrup or msg (both of which cannot be digested very well by your body and get stored as fat or block other nutrients from being absorbed). We couldn't believe it!!! Our bread, yogurt, meat marinades, etc. all had high fructose corn syrup as the second or third ingredient.

Dis-gus-ting.

So, we've been buying the products that have ingredients that we can actually understand.

My BFF Britt told me about a store called Sunflower Farmer's Market nearby so I went shopping there and I loved it! I'm so excited! Not only do they carry products that don't contain high fructose corn syrup, but their apples actually looked like apples. You know...the kind that you pick off of a tree? That might have a little brown speck or two? One that is not polished so that you can see your face reflecting in the waxy film that covers the skin? All of the meat they sell is antibiotic/hormone free and from companies who treat their animals humanely.
The next best thing would be to have an entire elk in the freezer like Mike and Em...but we don't have that just yet, so this will have to do. :) The eggs/chicken products are also hormone/antibiotic free and from cage free chickens. Yay! I was just so excited today. We just ate a dinner that was completely organic and it was delicioso.

Just imagine if we all would pay a little extra for organic/real food and support companies who care a little about the effect their business has on the environment...then maybe every other company that doesn't would have to follow!

Oh...p.s. one of the things we found that had high fructose syrup? Our HALF AND HALF!! Wtf?

From John to Me to You...

“You are all geniuses, and you are all beautiful. You don't need anyone to tell you who you are. You are what you are. Get out there and get peace, think peace, live peace, and breathe peace, and you'll get it as soon as you like.”

Something new to do...

When we took our usual trip to the antique store "The Wooden Nickel" in Marysvale over the Christmas holiday, I immediately fell in love with an easel that was for sale. I've always been intimidated by a paintbrush but I've always wanted to learn how to paint. So, I took the easel as a sign and bought it with some beginner paint supplies to explore a new hobby...

Here's my "artistic interpretation" of the Salt Flats sunrise. I can't wait until I have more free time after school so I can take some classes!

Huh?

A night out is never truly a night out until Brandon does the robot.

Hats and more hats

By request of the piano players, Mike went up to do a little booty-shaking on stage. Oh..don't worry, there's more to come at the end of the post.

Um.....huh?

Greg (Liz's boyfriend) modeled little furniture at the table out of his champagne bottle....wow!

Then Jim put his chicken wing on a miniature table and pretended to eat it. Silly Jimmy.

Um...Jeannie?! What are you taking a picture of?! I never found out.

I think our waitress had a little crush on Brandon. She kept bringing him free drinks. Saaweet!

Brandon is...um...(I think dancing?) next to Dave

On Facebook, my friend Mike set his status to "Mike is resolving to live life with fewer inhibitions in '09. :)." Well, here's proof that he wasn't kidding :)

When we were waiting to jump on Trax after the party, we were pleasantly entertained by these two gentlemen. I was laughing so hard I think I might have peed a little in my pants. It was totally worth it.
