This is the life....

Okay, so one day I was at work and I brought in some of my mom's jewelry and people go crazy buying it. I was explaining to one of my co-workers where Marysvale is and what my parents do and this is how the conversation went...

Me: Yeah, my parents live in a small little town called Marysvale. They live right up a beautiful canyon next to a stream where they have a cabin. They enjoy going rock hounding and going to rock shows and when they're at home, my dad will cut and polish rocks they find and my mom enjoys making beautiful stone and gem jewelry.

Co-worker: Whatever. This is just some fantasy story you tell when you bring in your mom's jewelry to make it seem more romantic, like they're actually in a cute little cabin in the woods polishing rocks and making jewelry by a stream.

Me: uh....no, seriously.

So, this weekend I realized that mom and dad have the life. Yesterday, we arrive from Vegas to pick up chica. We pull up the road and drive past the beautiful wildflowers that mom has transplanted all over the hill by the cabin and past the beautiful vegetable garden full of yummy veggies. We see chica prancing through the flower garden chasing chipmunks and dad sitting in his chair flint knapping arrowheads, while mom is fixing a gourmet lunch. We sit down to a delicious lunch complete with a glass of white wine and laugh and talk. Before we leave, we sit out on the patio listening to the river rush by and then enjoy a sudden summer storm that poured down and brought with the smell of fresh mountain air.

I'm moving to Marysvale.

I'm right there with you! They totally do have the life! The kids and I cannot wait to come in just a couple of weeks! Funny story about your work! It does sound all romantic, and what a great way to sell jewelry. "Once there was a house in the middle of the woods..."
